Angles and Christmas goes together and my grandmothers old filet crochet is perfect for making Christmas angles. I have played a little with the design and come up with three different ways of making the angles. All three designs have got a metal wire skeleton to enable them to stand. One of the Christmas angle have got wings made out of lace fabric and metal wire.

The triangular angle is probably the simplest. A square piece of material is folded diagonally and sewn together in the sides. Remember to leave holes in the corners for the metal wire. A head and a foot circle is made out of a piece of wire fed through the middle of the triangle. In the same way a piece of wire is fed along the top edge of the triangle and hands are folded in the end. Finally I have covered the head wire with a bit of yarn with glitter effect.

The Christmas angle with the wings is made a bit differently. A piece of material has got the two top corners folded down to the middle of the bottom edge to form a triangle. A seem is sewn down the middle where the sides meet to hold it together. Along the bottom edge a wire is fed through and bend to a circle. The wings are cut out of a piece of lace fabric with a piece of wire placed along the edge.

The small angle is simply a square piece of filet crochet folded to a rectangle and made as the first angle.

The lightness of the crochet makes the angles elegant and the simple designs goes very well with the crochet. My angles are made out of three different types of filet crochet and each asks for a different design.
