This week the blog has been dominated by Christmas cards made out of recycled materials. Today is not going to be any different. I have tried to put the cards into colour groups and today is the day for the golden Christmas card. As for all the cards I have shown earlier this week all the paper used is either from junk mail or pieces of Christmas cards from last year.
The Christmas tree on the first card is made with satin stitches and has been decorated with french knots. The golden star on the other card is made with ‘random’ stitches which together make the star shape.
The card with the silver star doesn’t quite fit the golden Christmas card category. However, it is part of today’s post anyway. The star is embroided with a silver thread on a piece of paper in a nice blue and white pattern. In the middle of the star is a group of french knots in dark blue and silver. The green piece of paper in the background gives the card a fabric kind of structure.
The Christmas dressed penguins have got company by a couple of dark blue hearts in satin stitches. They do look a bit puzzled so I don’t know if they like it.
It is a funny process to make this kind of Christmas card but it takes a lot of time for each card. I will not take a break from the card production as there has to be time for other Christmas projects as well. If you want to buy any of the cards then have a look in the shop as there is still a couple left.
