Sometimes the ideas for creative projects develop in the strangest ways. This paper patchwork poster is an example of a ‘backwards’ inspiration process. We have for a while had a clock hanging in the kitchen, however, now the motor does not work anymore and we have had to buy a new clock. But there was nothing wrong with the round frame of the old clock, so why not reuse that one?
I therefore had a round frame which needed a round picture to fit it. The result is this paper patchwork poster which is now hanging in our bedroom. The poster is made in the same way as the paper patchwork cards from a previous posting. All the materials are from old magazines and are sewn onto a piece of grey paper cut to fit the old clock.
It is always interesting how the creativity can develop in unexpected ways – and also a little bit backwards.
