Creative projects often develops into new projects – this is also the case with my paper patchwork project. Back in January I made cards with paper patchwork using recycled paper. The cards developed into the paper patchwork poster which I showed a couple of weeks ago. Now the combination of the two projects has evolved into these cards made with circle paper patchwork.
The paper used for the circle paper patchwork is recycled from old magazines. The patchwork is sewn onto double cards which are made out of recycled cardboard. The cardboard is either from old packaging or old dividers. The cardboard has been chosen ensuring that the recycling does not show on the cards.
It is a lot of fun to experiment with combinations of colour and patterns before everything is sewn together. Sometimes the right combination comes straight away – other times it takes several attempt before it works.
There are a lot of ways to make circle paper patchwork and I’m not done experimenting. These cards will be placed in the shop later today if you are interested in buying some.
